Macbeth, de G. Verdi, está em cena na METropolitan Opera. Será transmitida para todo o mundo no MetLive dentro de dias. Escreverei novamente sobre toda a produção em breve mas não quero deixar esta nota desde já.

O papel mais relevante na opera é o da Lady Macbeth. Provocadora, sensual, pérfida e dominadora do seu atormentado marido, Anna Netrebko encarna a personagem de forma notável! A não perder.

Com a acção transportada para o Séc XX no pós guerra, a cantora oferece-nos uma Lady Macbeth loira e descalça, mas é a sua interpretação vocal que mais impressiona. Se não tem todos os graves, nos outros registos é fabulosa e enche completamente o gigantesco teatro com a sua belíssima voz quente, sem nunca gritar e alcançando notas agudas estratosféricas com uma qualidade marcante! Apesar de cantar agora os papéis de soprano dramático, a voz ainda é muito lírica e de uma qualidade ímpar. Os  outros solistas são de primeira água, mas ela supera-os todos!

Lady (Macbeth) Netrebko at the Met - do not miss!

Macbeth by G. Verdi, is on stage at the Metropolitan Opera. It will soon be broadcast around the world in MetLive. I will write again about the whole production soon but I do want to leave this note now.

The most important role in the opera is the one of Lady Macbeth. Provocative, perfidious and dominating her tormented husband, Anna Netrebko embodies the character remarkably well! Not to be missed.

With the action moved to the postwar twentieth century, the singer offers us a blonde and barefoot Lady Macbeth, but the most impressive is her vocal performance. If she does not have all low notes, in all other registers she is fabulous and completely fills the gigantic theater with her beautiful warm voice, never screaming and reaching stratospheric high notes with an outstanding quality! She moved recently to dramatic soprano roles, but her voice still sounds very lyric. The other soloists are top quality, but she overcomes them all!
