Accademia del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino announces open the enrolment for admission of opera singers to the academic year 2016-2017.
The course is addressed to singers with important artistic abilities and a solid theoretical and technical base, between the ages of 18-35. The advanced vocational training course will run from November 2016 through June 2017, with a possible extension for activities of work experience up to October 2017.
The young singers will have the opportunity to study with well-known artists and professionals of the field, and will be allowed to follow daily the different phases of opera production at the Opera di Firenze. Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Foundation and the partner opera-symphonic institutions may offer the young artists the possibility to participate in operas and concerts in their season billboard, in title or cover roles. The enrolment and the attendance to the course are free.

The young artists admitted to the Academy will be awarded a scholarship equal to Euro 1,200.00 gross per month (from November 2016 to June 2017).
The Coordination of the Academy is entrusted to Gianni Tangucci, in cooperation with the Artistic Direction of the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Foundation.
Selection exams:
The preliminary phase is based on the assessment of a Curriculum Vitae and two audio-video recordings.
The next phases consist in live auditions, which will take place at the Opera di Firenze on the following dates:
– July 24-25-26 2016: semi-final
– July 27 2016: final
